Unusual Bridal Bouquets

Sponsored Post, Wedding Fashion / December 12, 2016

from florist Vases Wild… As a florist, I like to take an occasional opportunity to stretch my creative muscles. I like to create bridal bouquets that are fashion-forward and non-traditional. With an eye towards craftsmanship, and a commitment to supporting local farmers and businesses, all the gowns that accompany these bouquets are locally designed and sewn, and all flowers in these bouquets are local or American-grown. I’d like to share four different, unusual bridal bouquets that have a different flavor, but that are still very approachable for today’s couture bride.

The “purse-style” bouquet is inspired by the art-deco era, consistent with the classic, long lines of the dress it was paired with (hand-sewn and designed by Washington State dressmaker French Knot Couture), and the mansion in which the shoot took place (Lairmont Manor in Bellingham, WA).

The foliage bouquet takes the current foliage trend just one step farther, using all locally grown materials including some from my Whidbey Island, WA garden.

The copper armature bouquet is well suited for a sophisticated, contemporary gown, in particular the crop-top styles where the lean look is not always flattered by a huge bouquet. It features white Ranunculus and Hypericum berries.

Lastly, the richly colored bouquet in the vine armature is also good for a contemporary gown (this one designed and hand-sewn by Mia Fioravanti of Fioravanti Designs in Seattle). This is a good option for a bride who is looking for a natural, organic feeling but who is not attracted to a wild, fly-away aesthetic. This bouquet features locally grown blooms sourced entirely from Washington State.

Oh my gosh, I am IN LOVE with that richly colored red, orange and green bouquet. I’m getting married in the Spring and my colors are gray, mint and white and all the neutrals. Definitely going to use this as inspiration!

I appreciate this thinking outside the box! My bridesmaids didn’t have bouquets but beautiful hair pieces instead!
