Inspired by a golden sunset and warm fall leaves, this romantic nature inspired wedding photo shoot features a brand new Alberta wedding venue, DIY ceremony backdrops, and breath taking scenery.
This romantic shoot was a joint effort by some of Edmonton’s finest wedding vendors including the brand new Woodland and Wildflower Weddings located in the heart of Alberta. Owners Laurie and Jesse take pride in making their venue unique and natural. For our shoot we selected their triangle ceremony backdrop that they DIYed with 2x4s and adorned with antlers and succulents. Laurie also created the circular branch backdrop from branches found on the property which you can see in the background of our reception table. Set on 144 acres of land, their venue includes 3 log cabins and can accommodate up to 100 wedding guests and 13 overnight guests.
The bride wore the Lydia gown from Toronto based, Canadian designer Calla Blanche. Her casual outfit was a pink tulle skirt from ASOS and a tank top from H&M. Jill Keech Hair created for our bride a 5 strand pull-back braid and soft curls to frame her face. Lily Grey Artistry gave our bride a bold but delicate makeup look using deep mauve colours.
We wanted to create a romantic and intimate atmosphere for the reception tent so it was lit with Edison lights, candles and lanterns. Agate pieces were purchased at Bedrock Supply and hand calligraphied by Jars of Clay Calligraphy. Florals were created by Bryanna Kumpula Designs and featured local flowers such as chocolate lace, bleeding hearts, roses, amaranthus, and chocolate basil giving the atmosphere an earthly, welcoming scent.
