Josh and Emi met at the Italian Home for Children. Emi was a young intern and on her first day at the school, had a gym class with her students. Her classroom was very enthusiastic about her participating in basketball – her least favorite sport because self-proclaimed, she’s awful at it. Preparing herself for embarrassment, she walked up the hill to the gym and realized she was about to be way more embarrassed than she thought because there was a super hot gym teacher, Josh.Josh still remembers this moment, a defining factor that Emi was one of the coolest girls, because she participated in gym, which interns never do!
Summer came around, and Emi was hired to work there year round. Throughout that year, Josh + Emi’s friendship grew. She made so many excuses to talk to him, and he made so many excuses to come into her classroom and hangout in the back with her when he could. During this time, many female interns came through the school and would also check out “the hot gym teacher” to which Emi informed, was not interested in women or in a relationship. (When he was neither.) 😉
Emi knew they would be the greatest couple if they didn’t work so closely together – as Josh says “don’t get your honey where you make your money.” Emi was determined to make this work! On May 10th, Josh called her down to his office because he bought her Reeses on his lunch break, and they shared an awkwardly intimate hug. Emi gave her two weeks the following day, May 11th. That night they went on their first date and the rest is history! YAY for love!
Josh + Emi had a destination affair at the Lake Shore Village Resort in Weare, NH. This resort is rented out privately for weddings and is quite the “camp” (meaning, high-end lodging, a gorgeous beach, boat rentals and tons of activities for guests for the weekend!) Along with some really special heirlooms (her grandmother’s cake server and her grandfather’s vintage ladder), Emi + Josh put some thoughtful details into their day. A ceremony on the lake beach, night under the tent, campfire s’mores to finish the night off – a woodland vibe perfect for the Fall leaf-peeping New England scenery. A true beauty!
