Ease Wedding Day Stresses With These Helpful Tips

Wedding Day, Wedding Planning / October 15, 2022

So, the big day is finally approaching. It’s been in the works for years, plans have been made, changed, remade, tweaked, and thrown out in despair. Now, however, the day is nearly here, and you’re going to need to stick to the plan you’ve got.

While obviously this is an exciting, magical time, it can also be a stressful time. The thought of such a big event, all your friends and family there, with you at the very centre is enough to fill anyone with fear. Don’t let the stress overwhelm, we’ve put together a guide with some top tips on staying stress-free for your wedding day.

What To Do With All The Stuff?

Weddings come with a lot of wedding-related things. It could be decorations, flower arrangements, crockery, or bottles of wine and champagne, a big event requires a lot of food, drink, and equipment. Where on earth are you going to keep everything before the big day? Keeping it all at home is impractical, and often impossible unless you’re living in a mansion.

Consider using an external storage unit to keep all the things safe and ready for your wedding day. Safestore have a range of units available across the country, if you’re getting married in bonny Scotland, check them out for options for storage in Edinburgh.

Take Deep Breaths

It’s wedding day. Years of careful planning has led to this. You’re probably feeling a whole assortment of feelings and emotions, and it can be easy to get overwhelmed by the pressure and expectation of the big day.

One effective method that can be used to alleviate anxiety is by taking deep breaths. Deep, focused breathing has been proven to reduce stress in the body and elicit feelings of calm and relaxation.  If you feel yourself ready to panic or have a breakdown, take a step back, take deep breaths, and remember that everything is going to be ok.

Delegate Tasks

A wedding is a long and complicated event, often spanning a full day and night and involving a number of locations. Logistically speaking, things can get difficult, with a range of different service providers, professionals, and guests all interacting and trying to co-exist at once. Not everything is going to go smoothly, and you’re going to be asked questions about when things are happening or where something or someone should be.

Don’t feel like you have to be in charge of absolutely everything. While this is your wedding and what you say should ultimately matter, trying to do and control everything yourself is going to lead to you getting burnt out quickly. Delegate tasks and questions to other members of your wedding party, that’s what bridesmaids and groomsmen are for, leaving you free to concentrate on the most important part of the day, marrying your partner.

Be Flexible

While weddings need to be meticulously planned, especially for larger and longer events, deviating from the schedule doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. Adjustments or amendments to schedules are perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Don’t let a slight change of plans totally derail your mood and your special day, be flexible and be prepared to take things as they come.

Conclusion

Weddings are undoubtedly stressful, unfortunately there is just no getting around that fact. What you can do, however, is put measures in place to ensure you don’t let the stress overwhelm. Think about where to store everything you’ll need for the big day, take deep breaths when you feel anxious, or even play a stress-relieving game of jigsaw puzzle, delegate tasks, and be prepared to adjust your plans, and your wedding will go off without a hitch.
