Rustic Elegance Backyard Barn Wedding

Real Weddings / December 28, 2020

Cake & Lace feels overjoyed to share this divine, real wedding photo collection from the awe-inspiring talent behind YOGI SMITH PHOTOGRAPHY. The balanced mixture of burgundy and green tones makes it an ideal color palette inspiration for the Christmas season. Fun fact: today’s feature couple knows how to engineer a DIY wedding handsomely – they did most of the ceremonial arrangements by themselves!

From the photographer, Yogi Smith Photography:

Mara and Dylan had originally planned a May 2020 wedding, but due to the impact of COVID-19, their wedding venue closed, and they had to postpone their wedding. They ended up spending months turning the barn in Mara’s backyard into a wedding venue. It was such a gorgeous transformation, and it was so meaningful because her whole family got together and turned their family barn into a wedding venue. I love their story so much, because even in the midst of a challenging year like 2020, that completely threw a wrench in their plans, this sweet couple and their families came together and created something so special and meaningful. I remember feeling so terrible for Mara and Dylan when they told me that they had to postpone their wedding back in May. But the day of their wedding, Mara told me that their barn wedding was better than anything she could have ever imagined. And I really felt like their story was one that should be shared and celebrated!
