from the event planner… “Living on the southern shore of Lake Superior, the Big Lake holds a special place in all of our hearts. Our area, especially Bayfield, Wisconsin, is becoming more and more of a destination wedding spot for coupes all over the Midwest. When starting to plan a winter wedding styled shoot, it only made sense to keep it local! Instead of hiring professional models, we decided to instead do a model call looking for a recently engaged couple who would want to come practice for their big day! We found the sweetest couple- Lily and Sean, two local teachers who were very clearly in love.”
“We built such a wonderful vendor team, so many of which are local wedding vendors. We wanted to keep as much as we could local, because that is where the magic takes place. Copper, greenery, and earth tones was our style, and boy did we nail it. We started with a simple, yet beautiful J. Crew wedding dress, and added a fur shawl and absolutely stunning jewelry. We really wanted to highlight the jewelry, made right in Bayfield by a local jewelry artist, Silverwaves Jewelry. The necklace was made with a crazy lace agate. The bride and groom rings were made out of Lake Superior agates. We made the copper candle holders out of copper pipes and fittings! The copper bar and tables were installed in Good Thyme Restaurant a few years ago and have always impressed customers. The ceremony was set up at the Washburn Cultural Center in the art gallery. We had so much fun planning and designing every little detail.”
“When it came to the day of the styled shoot, the “bride and groom” couple showed up ready to have some fun! The bride had her hair and makeup done on site. Both of our models were super excited for the shoot and had so much fun doing it. Throughout the shoot they would giggle, smile at each other and just drift into their own little world. It was so genuine and real, I almost felt like I was intruding by looking at the two of them as we took their pictures.”
