Welcome To Mars, Italian Space Wedding Inspiration

Cake & Lace came across this unique wedding submission and couldn’t help but feature it!

This styled shoot stemmed from inspiration in 2019 from Gucci and Georgio Armani. If you haven’t heard, fashion designers are using their creativity to embody spatial touches in their work.

Vision from the photographer:

“The bride lands on a new planet. Disoriented, she wanders through the paths of a pristine and seemingly deserted place. Suddenly, in the distance, she meets her man who is there waiting for her. She joins him on the mountain, to spend his whole life together.”

The styled shoot was in a bauxite quarry in Puglia, Italy. It was the ideal place to make their spatial vision come to reality. The background of the clay earth and the deserted landscape was perfect for the “Mars” planet look. Once the couple is re-connected on the same planet, their love blossoms and everything about love comes to life.

An italian poet, Paola de Benedictis, wrote a poem for this “Welcome to Mars: Spatial Wedding Inspiration” shoot.

Perlustrazione
Ieri danzavo sulla balaustra di un desiderio.

Ora orbito incerta nel cerchio di una promessa.

Quanta solitudine è trascorsa
cercando un segno della tua presenza?

E’ giunto senza clamore
e finalmente ti vedo anche al buio.

Ti annidi qui, nella mia costola lattea
e in questo spazio così vasto e segreto 
io ti prego di razziarmi.


Attesa

In te ho ramificato la mia corona
sin dal nostro primo incontro.

La tua ombra tinge una terra rossa, 
ricopre ogni parola.

Questo è il luogo dove si è spogliato il mio silenzio, 
per dire meglio
la geografia d’idiomi e corpi.

Allunaggio
La tua luna si interrò nella mia pancia 
come fossi lago luminoso.

Il mondo si sfilò molto lentamente.
Poi fu il nostro mattino assoluto.

Conquista
Il tuo modo di guardarmi
 è misura della nostra congiunzione:

una vicinanza che solo tu conosci
una certezza che solo in me dimora.
