What could possibly be more beautiful than staring off into the ocean cliff side at sunset in California? This engagement session from Pennsylvania wedding photographer Sarah Canning shares her take on love with a bit of chic and floral beauty. The couple found a gorgeous backdrop right before sunset to begin their shoot. Wearing a flowy lilac skirt and ivory lace top, Alison Kinsey (fellow blogger, check her out!), has a simply stunning ethereal glow to her, while her fiance stares into her eyes. Fusing gorgeous florals, sunset, California beach side cliffs, and a pair in love…well you have a great combination for a fantastic engagement shoot!

“As a Pennsylvania wedding and portrait photographer never having shot on the west coast I wanted to set up a styled engagement session to execute my “dream session” on the cliffs and beaches of the west coast. With a trip planned to San Diego, California, I sought out to find creative friends to collaborate with. I later connected with the lovely blogger, Alison Kinsey, who resides in San Diego and was engaged to be married on the 25th of July but had never had engagement pictures done with her fiancé. I later found Maria Gallardo of Lovely Blooms Floral to be local as well and eager to help. Everyone came together to execute my vision of a glowing sunset session on the Sunset Cliffs. I imagined the session to be bohemian and chicanery elegant with pops of bold color. I adore the look of beautiful flowing skirts and the color palette came together amazingly. The outfit was styled by myself (a boutique did not collaborate however I left tags for where the pieces are from). Everything came together better than I could have imagined and I cannot thank everyone enough. I hope these images are something the couple will cherish forever.”
