from the bride, Bijun… “As a visual designer myself, I usually go with two completely different visual directions. My design either has very strong visual impact (such as inverted colors) or very clean and minimal. For my wedding, it is not really an occasion for people to take in some strong visual impact, so I chose to go with a clean, minimal and elegant style. I chose to use a warm color theme because I wanted all of us to have a sweet and warm memory of our wedding. White, champagne, blush, peach, gray and siege green made up our color palette. For the floral design, we added some special touches to make them even more lovely: the white/blush orchids and siege succulents. For the roses, I preferred the garden roses rather than the regular roses, because they are not overused, which is the same reason I chose the orchids and succulents.”
“As a designer, I am super detail-oriented, and I just love everything that is well designed and is not being overused. For my wedding gown, it is from Zuhair Murad Bridal Fall 2017 collection – it’s called VANINA collection. Zuhair Murad is a Lebanese fashion designer, and we don’t have a boutique in the U.S., but I got it from the Panache Bridal store in Beverly Hills. It took about 4 months to make it and ship it from Europe to the States. The sales team told me I am the first person to wear it in the West coast! In the early phase of me hunting for the wedding gown, I tried on other wedding gowns like Ellie Saab, Reem Acra, and Vera Wang. But eventually I chose this dress without having seen the dress in person (because it’s from the 2017 fall collection, and since I ordered it around January, they didn’t have it in store). My instinct just told me that this was my perfect dress, and I made the right choice. My husband’s suit is from Dolce & Gabbana 2017 Summer Collection, and we bought it from the Beverly Hills boutique. It is also very gorgeous, different and unique, I haven’t seen any grooms wear such a suit.”
