From Laura Comparetto of Loviu Events:
Mike and Rosie are a young couple living in Canada. Rosie is actually from the United Kingdom, Mike on the other hand is Canadian with Italian roots.
They chose Sicily because they completely fell in love with the Tonnara di Scopello…. When they first emailed us, they told us about this location. It was a dream come true for them.
How can you blame them… It is a beautiful place.
Their goal was to surprise their guests and pay homage to Italy, so they opted for an elegant Sicilian celebration. They got ready in the Tonnara palace in two separate suites, as is the Italian tradition. Rosie’s attire was simple and elegant…. She wore a lace gown by Grace Loves Lace. She opted for a chignon and natural makeup. Her bouquet was also exquisite, consisting of white orchids.
Her bridesmaids wore black silk dresses, following the Dolce and Gabbana trend.
Mike and his groomsmen wore cream-colored dresses instead.A itinerant Sicilian band accompanied the groom and the boys to the ceremony area. It was a very fun moment because everyone started dancing to traditional songs.
We can say it was a good way to fight anxiety. The ceremony was held on the seashore, so you could enjoy the beautiful scenery the whole time. Immediately afterwards, the aperitif started and the itinerant band restarted playing. The guests really enjoyed this very cheerful moment.
Dinner then followed. The long horseshoe table was set up in the courtyard, called Baglio. We decided to decorate it with white tablecloths, small opaque vases and candles. The florists filled the vases with brightly colored flowers in different shades of pink, yellow and orange. They also added seasonal fruits to complete the arrangement.
The dinner was really enjoyable and a good time was had by all. Between courses, the Tasten’saxophonist played some special tunes chosen by Mike and Rosie. The best moment was when he popped up from a balcony playing a very energetic track. Everyone present was really surprised and happy.
The cake moment was very tender because Mike prepared a surprise for Rosie. He wrote a song for her and played it after the first dance. Their “second” dance was so special and Rosie cried all her tears.
After it they continued to celebrate in the disco area, a cave by the sea.
