Today, Cake & Lace wishes everyone and their families a very hoppy day!
Jessica from Jessica Hennessey Weddings here, great to “meet” you virtually. I hope you are safe and well amidst the craziness of this COVID-19 scare. The event industry is being hit particularly hard right now, but I know we will all persevere together once this is over.Right before this pandemic got really bad in the US, a group of vendors and I got together for my annual rescue animal wedding editorial. A little bit about me – animal rescues are a near and dear cause to my heart, and I’ve dedicated myself to working with two different rescues each year of my career and helping them to gain more awareness around their rescues and/or shelter missions – and ultimately finding these cuties forever homes. The past two years we’ve worked with puppies, but this year I fell in love with the idea of an Easter-themed shoot with rescue bunnies! We worked with House Rabbit Network and the Scituate Animal Hospital (A local shelter in Massachusetts) on a “We’re so hoppy you’re here.” wedding-themed editorial shoot. I’m so happy with the way it turned out and would love to spread the cute bunny love all over.
The Scituate Animal Shelter exists to improve the quality of life for both companion animals and the people of our community by providing shelter, care and placement for homeless animals and additional support through community services and education. In the past five years alone, the shelter has found homes for 2,280 animals from all over Massachusetts. Pets come to them as strays, as surrenders from owners no longer able to care for them, and as transfers from shelters and animal control facilities with no more room. Because of the generosity of their donors, they continue to make a positive impact on animal welfare in their community by offering services that promote the health and well being of companion animals and address the root causes of pet homelessness.
